Title: Heritage Eco-survey

Overall purpose of placement
The LEMUR trainee will be a part of the IgoMANGO team (including staff and volunteers) and will be directly responsible for drawing together the heritage scientific and survey program based on the Sharpham Estate in south Devon. This will lead to the production of a conservation and biodiversity map for the Sharpham Estate. The trainee will be responsible for the heritage wildlife and habitat survey monitoring program – ensuring data is collected and archived for both national and local purposes. The trainee will work with a volunteer team on site at Sharpham.

- Assist in the surveying and recording of specific wildlife species which are currently being monitored on the estate as part of national surveys (e.g. dormice, breeding birds).
- Design and implement a heritage management plan for two dicrete habitats within the estate (woodland, wet woodland/pond).
- Carry out practical heritage habitat management around the estate.
- Work closely with volunteers both individually and in groups.
- Work with volunteers in developing sustainable resources for the site.
- Support and lead public educational events promoting heritage activities.
