NVQ LEVEL 3 qualification

Trainees based with the Devon and Sheffield hubs will undertake an NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) in Environmental Conservation at Level 3 and may choose any three units from the table below. Trainees based with the Herefordshire hub will undertake an OCN (Open College Network) in Biological Assessment Skills at Level 3. Click here for more information.

These units are sub divided into elements.  Each unit will be certificated independently by the City & Guilds awarding body.

Manage habitats

Trainees based with the Devon hub ONLY may choose units from the additional units in the table below:

Negotiate changes to the use of land and/or sea areas
Element EC28.1 Identify issues and develop recommendations for managing changes to the use of land and/or sea areas
Element EC28.2 Negotiate to agree change to the use of land and/or sea areas

Protect the environment through legal enforcement
Element EC29.1 Identify and confirm the need for enforcement
Element EC29.2 Initiate enforcement procedures to protect the environment

Motivate and recognise voluntary effort
