ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

The learner will:

The learner can:

  1. Understand the principles and processes required to produce habitat management plans.

 

  1. Select and justify a management plan format for a given planning task.
  2. Use a management plan to illustrate the functions of the management planning process.
  3. Identify the problems that may affect the implementation of a management plan.
  1. Know how to gather the information required for developing a habitat management plan.
  1. Consult appropriately with groups interested in the site.
  2. Collate primary and secondary information needed to assess the conservation interest and the relative importance of the site.
  3. Identify and quantify the resources needed to facilitate the management plan.
  1. Know how to analyse information and reconcile any conflicts of interest.
  1. Evaluate the conservation interest and relative importance of the site.
  2. Identify the constraints and opportunities that may affect the future management of the site.
  3. Justify any reconciliation of conflicts of interest in identifying priorities for the site.
  1. Know how to produce a site-based habitat management plan.
  1. Describe the prescriptions required to achieve management aims and objectives for the site.
  2. Produce schemes of work to be implemented for the site.
  3. Produce appropriate maps and/or schematic drawings to illustrate and support the plan.
  4. Define the operational monitoring and surveillance requirements recommended for the site.
  1. Know how to communicate the management plan effectively, incorporating appropriate feedback.
  1. Discuss management aims and objectives with appropriate interested parties.
  2. Disseminate a draft plan or summary to interested parties.
  3. Incorporate feedback into the draft plan.
